Watercolour and coloured pencils
I know it's a late submission, but I don't really care, because for us believers, Christ should always be born and alive within our hearts regardless of the season.
The Nativity is one of the Christian mysteries that should be celebrated by the soul all-year round.
Technically, this piece is a breakthrough for me. I've finally understood the beautiful essence of watercolour, especially the unifying effect of the glazing technique. I painted the whole surface yellow at first, splotched some orange with sponges, then gradually shaped the individual images, "bringing them to life".
You can see there are some white and golden roses scattered around. Roses symbolise Mary (Mary is the Mystical Rose, or Rosa Mystica). White roses are for her purity, and golden roses are for her glory as God's precious.
